Deployment models
Netwatch deployment models and their minimum system requirements.
Netwatch supports flexible deployment models to fit different customer environments, security requirements, and scale. The deployment model is selected based on environment size, network segmentation, and whether dedicated hardware is required.
Watchnode Deployment Model
The Watchnode is deployed within the customer environment. It is responsible for collecting monitoring data locally and securely forwarding it to the Netwatch platform.
This model is recommended for:
- Environments with restricted outbound access
- On-premises or hybrid networks
- Customers requiring local data collection and control
Key Characteristics
- Installed on a customer-managed system (physical or virtual)
- Communicates outbound only to Netwatch
- No inbound firewall rules required
- Supports monitoring of servers, network devices, and applications
Watchnode – Minimum System Requirements
| Environment Size | CPU | Memory | Storage | Operating System | Network |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small (0-200) | 2 vCPU | 4 GB RAM | 30 GB SSD | Ubuntu (64-bit) | Outbound connectivity to Netwatch |
| Medium (201-500) | 4 vCPU | 8 GB RAM | 50 GB SSD | Ubuntu (64-bit) | Outbound connectivity to Netwatch |
| Large (501-1500+) | 8 vCPU | 16 GB RAM+ | 100 GB SSD+ | Ubuntu (64-bit) | Outbound connectivity to Netwatch |
Micro Node Deployment Model
The Micro Node is a compact deployment option used when customer-provided infrastructure is not available or not preferred.
It is typically delivered as A small dedicated hardware appliance
When to Use a Micro Node
- No suitable server or VM available on-site
- Remote or edge locations
Key Characteristics
- Dedicated hardware
- Pre-configured and ready to deploy
- Minimal customer maintenance
- Secure outbound communication to Netwatch
