6WIND
Prepare 6WIND devices for QUARK Config Backup.
This guide covers 6WIND Virtual Service Router (VSR) deployments.
Create a backup account
Create a dedicated account, for example netwatch-backup, using the VSR configuration CLI or your provisioning workflow. Assign the account a role that can display the full running configuration; prefer a viewer or read-only role where your VSR release provides one. If your release only grants configuration visibility to administrator-level roles, use the least-privileged administrator role available — QUARK only reads the configuration and never applies changes.
Enable SSH access
VSR is managed over SSH. Verify the SSH server is enabled in the system configuration and reachable on the management interface QUARK will connect to. If you filter management traffic with firewall rules or an access policy on the management interface, permit TCP port 22 from the collector's IP address.
Platform notes
- QUARK retrieves the configuration with the VSR's own show and export facilities; the account must be permitted to run them.
- If the VSR is deployed behind NAT or in a private management VRF, make sure the collector can reach the management address directly.
Enable backup in Netwatch
Once the device is prepared, open its host in Netwatch (Data collection > Hosts) and add the Config Backup macros — the supported status flag, the model code for this platform, and the credentials you created. See Getting started for the full macro list and values.
