Garderos
Prepare Garderos devices for QUARK Config Backup.
This guide covers Garderos routers running GRS (Garderos Router Software), used on the Garderos R-series routers for harsh environments.
Create a backup account
Create a dedicated user named netwatch-backup in the router's user management. GRS does not require configuration-mode rights for backups; assign the lowest privilege level that can display the full device configuration — administrator rights are required on releases without a read-only role.
Enable SSH
GRS routers are managed over SSH. Verify the SSH service is enabled on the management interface and that the router is reachable from the Netwatch collector on TCP port 22. If you filter management traffic with firewall rules on the router, permit the collector's IP address.
Platform notes
- QUARK logs in over SSH, displays the configuration, and logs out; it never issues configuration commands.
- If your routers are behind a management VPN or an out-of-band network, make sure the collector has a route to the management address you register in QUARK.
Enable backup in Netwatch
Once the device is prepared, open its host in Netwatch (Data collection > Hosts) and add the Config Backup macros — the supported status flag, the model code for this platform, and the credentials you created. See Getting started for the full macro list and values.
