AudioCodes

Prepare AudioCodes devices for QUARK Config Backup.

This guide covers AudioCodes gateways and SBCs, including the MediaPack MP-1xx series and the Mediant 1000.

Mediant 1000

Create a backup account. In the web interface, create a dedicated netwatch-backup user in the local users / web user accounts settings (under the device's administration or security section, depending on firmware version). AudioCodes access levels include Monitor (read-only), Administrator, and Security Administrator. Start with Monitor; if your firmware does not let a Monitor user display the full configuration from the CLI, raise the account to Administrator — QUARK only reads the configuration.

Enable management access. Enable the CLI over SSH in the management access settings (older firmware may offer Telnet only — prefer SSH where available). The Mediant 1000 supports a web and Telnet/SSH access list; add the collector's IP to it to restrict management access.

Notes. The device configuration is an ini-style parameter set; QUARK captures it through the management CLI. Verify the account can display it in a manual session first.

MediaPack MP-1xx

Create a backup account. MP-1xx analog gateways are managed primarily through the web interface with a small fixed set of accounts. Dedicate an Administrator-level credential for QUARK (rename the account to netwatch-backup if the firmware allows editing the username) — administrator access is required to read the full parameter configuration.

Enable management access. Enable Telnet in the management settings; most MP-1xx firmware lacks SSH, so restrict access using the gateway's management access list and keep the unit on a protected management network.

Notes. These are legacy devices; management responsiveness is limited, so schedule backups at a modest frequency.

Enable backup in Netwatch

Once the device is prepared, open its host in Netwatch (Data collection > Hosts) and add the Config Backup macros — the supported status flag, the model code for this platform, and the credentials you created. See Getting started for the full macro list and values.
