ZTE
Prepare ZTE devices for QUARK Config Backup.
This guide covers ZTE ZXA10 C300 and C320 GPON OLTs.
Create a backup account
Create a dedicated account — for example netwatch-backup — through the OLT's CLI user management. Displaying the complete running configuration, including PON and ONU provisioning, requires privileged (enable) mode on this platform, so either create the account at the highest privilege level or record the enable password in QUARK so it can elevate after login. QUARK only runs show commands and never modifies the OLT.
Enable management access
Many C300/C320 deployments still manage the OLT over Telnet, which QUARK supports; current firmware also provides an SSH server. Enable SSH in the management configuration where your firmware supports it and prefer it over Telnet.
The platform supports management ACLs — restrict CLI access (TCP 22, and 23 if Telnet remains enabled) to the Netwatch collector's IP, or apply an equivalent ACL on the upstream network.
Platform notes
- Full configurations on heavily loaded chassis are large (ONU provisioning for every port); the first backup run may take noticeably longer than subsequent ones.
- Verify manually that the account can display the entire running configuration without permission errors before adding the device — privilege behavior varies between firmware versions.
- Back up each shelf/chassis individually; each holds its own configuration.
Enable backup in Netwatch
Once the device is prepared, open its host in Netwatch (Data collection > Hosts) and add the Config Backup macros — the supported status flag, the model code for this platform, and the credentials you created. See Getting started for the full macro list and values.
