Eltex
Prepare Eltex devices for QUARK Config Backup.
This guide covers Eltex switches and routers, including the MES switch series, running the Eltex operating system.
Create a backup account
Create a dedicated account named netwatch-backup. The Eltex CLI follows an IOS-like privilege model: displaying the running configuration requires the highest privilege level (15), so create the account at that level, or use a lower-privilege login and supply the enable password to QUARK.
Enable SSH access
Enable the SSH server on the device and verify the collector can reach the management IP on TCP port 22. If you restrict management access with an access list on the management interface or VTY lines, permit the collector's IP address.
Platform notes
- QUARK issues show commands only; the account never needs configuration rights, and QUARK never saves the configuration.
- If management authentication is delegated to RADIUS or TACACS+, create the backup account on the AAA server with privilege 15 authorization.
Enable backup in Netwatch
Once the device is prepared, open its host in Netwatch (Data collection > Hosts) and add the Config Backup macros — the supported status flag, the model code for this platform, and the credentials you created. See Getting started for the full macro list and values.
