AddPack
Prepare AddPack devices for QUARK Config Backup.
This guide covers AddPack VoIP gateways running the AddPack software.
Prepare a backup account
AddPack gateways typically ship with a single administrator login rather than role-based local users. If your firmware allows additional accounts, create a dedicated netwatch-backup account in the management settings; otherwise, dedicate a credential set for QUARK using the existing administrator login. Administrator access is required to display the full configuration — QUARK only reads it and never modifies the device.
Enable management access
AddPack gateways are commonly managed over Telnet. Enable Telnet access in the unit's management settings, or SSH if your firmware version supports it, and confirm the management IP is reachable from the collector. If the unit provides a management access filter, restrict access to the collector's IP address.
Platform notes
- Because these units usually rely on Telnet, place them on a protected management network and restrict access to the collector wherever possible.
- Verify the account can display the complete configuration from the CLI before adding the device to QUARK.
Enable backup in Netwatch
Once the device is prepared, open its host in Netwatch (Data collection > Hosts) and add the Config Backup macros — the supported status flag, the model code for this platform, and the credentials you created. See Getting started for the full macro list and values.
