Asterfusion
Prepare Asterfusion devices for QUARK Config Backup.
This guide covers Asterfusion CX-series switches running AsterNOS.
Create a backup account
Create a dedicated netwatch-backup user through the AsterNOS CLI's user management. If your AsterNOS release supports role-based access, assign a read-only or operator role that can run show commands, including displaying the running configuration. If configuration display requires administrator rights on your release, use an admin-level account — QUARK never issues configuration commands.
Enable SSH access
SSH is the standard management method for AsterNOS and is normally enabled by default on the management interface. Confirm the management IP is reachable from the collector on TCP port 22, and use an ACL or your management-network firewalling to restrict SSH to the collector's IP address.
Platform notes
- QUARK retrieves the configuration through the AsterNOS industry-standard CLI (klish) view; verify the account lands in that CLI at login rather than a raw Linux shell, or that the CLI is reachable from its login shell.
- Confirm from a manual session that the account can display the complete running configuration before adding the switch.
Enable backup in Netwatch
Once the device is prepared, open its host in Netwatch (Data collection > Hosts) and add the Config Backup macros — the supported status flag, the model code for this platform, and the credentials you created. See Getting started for the full macro list and values.
