Accedian

Prepare Accedian devices for QUARK Config Backup.

This guide covers Accedian Performance Elements (NIDs) running AEN software.

Create a backup account

Create a dedicated user named netwatch-backup in the unit's management interface (web UI or management CLI) under the user administration settings. Assign a read-only or viewer permission level if your AEN release provides one; the account only needs enough rights to display the unit's configuration. If configuration export is restricted to administrator accounts on your release, use an administrator account — QUARK never writes to the device.

Enable SSH access

Accedian Performance Elements expose a CLI over SSH on the management port. Verify SSH is enabled in the unit's management access settings, and that the management IP is reachable from the collector. If the unit supports management access filtering, restrict SSH to the collector's IP address.

Platform notes

  • QUARK reads the configuration through the unit's CLI; make sure CLI access is enabled for the account, not just web UI access.
  • Units managed centrally through an Accedian management platform can still be backed up directly, provided direct SSH access to each element is permitted.

Enable backup in Netwatch

Once the device is prepared, open its host in Netwatch (Data collection > Hosts) and add the Config Backup macros — the supported status flag, the model code for this platform, and the credentials you created. See Getting started for the full macro list and values.
