Radware

Prepare Radware devices for QUARK Config Backup.

This guide covers Radware Alteon application delivery controllers running AlteonOS.

Create a dedicated backup account

Create a local user named netwatch-backup in the device's user management settings (available from the web management interface or the CLI). AlteonOS assigns each account a user class: choose the read-only class so the account can view but never change the configuration. If you find that a read-only account cannot produce the complete configuration dump on your version, assign the administrator class instead — QUARK still performs only read operations.

Enable SSH access

Enable SSH management in the system access settings if it is not already active, and confirm the management IP is reachable from the QUARK collector. AlteonOS supports restricting management access to defined management networks; add the collector's IP address (or a narrow subnet containing it) to the allowed management sources.

Platform notes

  • QUARK retrieves the textual configuration dump over SSH; certificate private keys are excluded unless the device is explicitly configured to include them, and QUARK does not request them.
  • If the account is presented with a menu-driven session at login, that is normal for AlteonOS — QUARK drives the session automatically.

Enable backup in Netwatch

Once the device is prepared, open its host in Netwatch (Data collection > Hosts) and add the Config Backup macros — the supported status flag, the model code for this platform, and the credentials you created. See Getting started for the full macro list and values.
