Fujitsu

Prepare Fujitsu devices for QUARK Config Backup.

This guide covers the Fujitsu PRIMERGY blade server 1/10GbE connection blade switches and Fujitsu 1FINITY networking platforms.

PRIMERGY blade switch (1/10GbE)

These are the Ethernet connection blades installed in PRIMERGY blade chassis; they provide an industry-standard switch CLI and a web UI.

Create a backup account. Create a dedicated netwatch-backup account in the switch's user management with read-write (administrator) privilege — the blade switch firmware requires privileged access to display the complete running configuration.

Enable SSH. Enable the SSH server in the switch's management security settings and generate host keys if prompted. If your firmware supports a management access list, restrict it to the Netwatch collector's IP. Older firmware that lacks SSH can be reached over Telnet on a trusted management network.

Notes. The blade switch has its own management IP, separate from the chassis management blade; add the switch itself to QUARK, not the chassis controller.

1FINITY

1FINITY is Fujitsu's disaggregated transport platform family (for example the L-, T-, and S-series blades).

Create a backup account. Create a dedicated netwatch-backup user in the blade's user management and assign a read-only role if your release provides one; otherwise use the lowest administrative role able to display the full configuration.

Enable SSH. 1FINITY blades are managed over SSH (CLI and NETCONF); confirm SSH is enabled on the management interface and reachable from the Netwatch collector. If management access filtering is configured, permit the collector's IP.

Notes. Each 1FINITY blade is managed independently — add each blade to QUARK as a separate device.

Enable backup in Netwatch

Once the device is prepared, open its host in Netwatch (Data collection > Hosts) and add the Config Backup macros — the supported status flag, the model code for this platform, and the credentials you created. See Getting started for the full macro list and values.
