Eaton

Prepare Eaton devices for QUARK Config Backup.

This guide covers Eaton UPS systems fitted with the Gigabit Network Card (Network-M2 / Network-M3).

Create a backup account

In the card's web interface, create a dedicated user named netwatch-backup in the local users settings. Assign a role that can view the card's full settings; prefer a viewer/read-only profile if it exposes the complete configuration on your firmware version, otherwise use an administrator profile. The card forces a password change on first login for new accounts — complete that step in a browser before handing the credentials to QUARK.

Enable SSH access

Enable the SSH service in the card's network/protocol settings and verify the collector can reach the card's management IP on TCP port 22. If you restrict management access with an external firewall, permit the collector's IP address.

Platform notes

  • The card's CLI is limited; QUARK versions the settings the card exposes for retrieval.
  • Certificate and account secrets are not included in the exported settings, so store those separately.
  • Keep the card's firmware current — early firmware releases have limited SSH functionality.

Enable backup in Netwatch

Once the device is prepared, open its host in Netwatch (Data collection > Hosts) and add the Config Backup macros — the supported status flag, the model code for this platform, and the credentials you created. See Getting started for the full macro list and values.
