Raisecom

Prepare Raisecom devices for QUARK Config Backup.

This guide covers Raisecom switches and access devices, including the ISCOM series, running the Raisecom operating system.

Create a dedicated backup account

Create a local user named netwatch-backup from the CLI's user management commands or the web UI where available. Raisecom devices follow an IOS-style privilege model: give the account the highest privilege level, because the platform requires privileged mode to display the full running configuration — a low-privilege account will only see a partial view.

Enable SSH access

Enable the SSH server in the device's management configuration; on older firmware only Telnet is enabled out of the box. Prefer SSH, and disable Telnet once SSH access is verified. If Telnet is the only option your firmware supports, QUARK can use it — in that case restrict reachability of the management port to the collector's IP at your network edge. Where the device supports management ACLs on its virtual terminal lines, permit only the QUARK collector's IP address.

Platform notes

  • If a separate enable password protects privileged mode, record it in QUARK together with the login credentials.
  • Very old firmware may offer only legacy SSH ciphers; upgrade the firmware if the collector cannot negotiate a session.

Enable backup in Netwatch

Once the device is prepared, open its host in Netwatch (Data collection > Hosts) and add the Config Backup macros — the supported status flag, the model code for this platform, and the credentials you created. See Getting started for the full macro list and values.
