Icotera
Prepare Icotera devices for QUARK Config Backup.
This guide covers Icotera 6400-series devices.
Create a backup account
Create a dedicated account named netwatch-backup in the device's user management. Assign a read-only level if your firmware can display the full configuration with it; otherwise assign administrator rights. QUARK reads the configuration only, regardless of the account's level.
Enable management access
Enable SSH management access in the device's management settings and confirm the device is reachable from the Netwatch collector. If SSH is not available on your firmware, use Telnet on a trusted management network. Restrict management access to the collector's IP where the firmware provides an access list or trusted-host setting.
Platform notes
- Icotera CPEs are commonly provisioned centrally by the operator's ACS; QUARK's versioned history gives you an independent record of the configuration actually present on each unit.
- After firmware upgrades, verify that the
netwatch-backupaccount and management access settings are still in place.
Enable backup in Netwatch
Once the device is prepared, open its host in Netwatch (Data collection > Hosts) and add the Config Backup macros — the supported status flag, the model code for this platform, and the credentials you created. See Getting started for the full macro list and values.
