Alvarion

Prepare Alvarion devices for QUARK Config Backup.

This guide covers Alvarion BreezeACCESS wireless broadband equipment.

Prepare a backup account

BreezeACCESS units use password-based access levels in a menu-driven management interface rather than named local users. Dedicate an installer- or administrator-level password for QUARK — that level is required to display the full configuration — and record it as the credential set for the netwatch-backup role in your password management. QUARK only navigates the read/show options and never changes settings.

Enable management access

BreezeACCESS units are commonly managed over Telnet; enable Telnet access in the unit management settings if it is disabled. These platforms generally lack SSH, so place the units on a protected management network. If the unit supports authorized/allowed manager IP addresses, restrict management access to the collector's IP.

Platform notes

  • The menu-driven interface exposes configuration as displayed parameter screens; QUARK captures this output as the device's configuration record.
  • Confirm the management VLAN/IP of each unit (AU and SU as applicable) is reachable from the collector.

Enable backup in Netwatch

Once the device is prepared, open its host in Netwatch (Data collection > Hosts) and add the Config Backup macros — the supported status flag, the model code for this platform, and the credentials you created. See Getting started for the full macro list and values.
