DataCom
Prepare DataCom devices for QUARK Config Backup.
This guide covers DataCom DmSwitch 3000 series switches.
Create a backup account
Create a dedicated account named netwatch-backup on the switch. The DmSwitch CLI follows an IOS-like privilege model: displaying the full running configuration requires privileged access, so create the account at the highest privilege level or provide the enable password to QUARK alongside a lower-privilege login.
Enable SSH access
Enable the SSH server in the switch's management settings and verify the collector can reach the management IP on TCP port 22. If the switch is configured with a management access list, permit the collector's IP address.
Platform notes
- QUARK issues show commands only and never modifies or saves the configuration.
- If management authentication is delegated to TACACS+ or RADIUS, create the backup account on the AAA server with privileged show authorization.
Enable backup in Netwatch
Once the device is prepared, open its host in Netwatch (Data collection > Hosts) and add the Config Backup macros — the supported status flag, the model code for this platform, and the credentials you created. See Getting started for the full macro list and values.
