Cambium
Prepare Cambium devices for QUARK Config Backup.
This guide covers Cambium fixed-wireless radios in the PMP450 series and the ePMP series.
PMP450 series
PMP450 access points and subscriber modules are managed through their web interface.
Create a backup account. In the web UI, go to Account > Add User and create a user named netwatch-backup. Set the account level to READ-ONLY — a read-only user can view the full device configuration, which is all QUARK needs.
Enable management access. Ensure the radio's management IP is reachable from the collector. If you use the IP access filtering feature under Configuration > Security, add the collector's IP address to the list of permitted management hosts.
Platform notes.
- PMP450 radios support only a small number of simultaneous management sessions; QUARK opens one short session per backup run.
- Keep the management VLAN routing in place so the collector can reach subscriber modules behind the access point, if you back those up individually.
ePMP series
ePMP access points and subscriber modules are managed through their web interface, with an optional SSH CLI.
Create a backup account. In the web UI, open the device administration settings under Configuration > System and add a user named netwatch-backup with a read-only (monitor) role.
Enable management access. Enable the SSH server in the management settings under Configuration > System so QUARK can retrieve the configuration over SSH, and confirm the collector can reach the device's management IP. If you restrict management access by source address, permit the collector's IP.
Platform notes.
- If the read-only role on your firmware version cannot display the full configuration, use an administrator-level account instead.
- Devices managed by cnMaestro remain fully compatible; QUARK's read-only sessions do not interfere with cnMaestro management.
Enable backup in Netwatch
Once the device is prepared, open its host in Netwatch (Data collection > Hosts) and add the Config Backup macros — the supported status flag, the model code for this platform, and the credentials you created. See Getting started for the full macro list and values.
