Centec Networks
Prepare Centec Networks devices for QUARK Config Backup.
This guide covers Centec Networks switches running CNOS.
Create a backup account
Create a dedicated account named netwatch-backup. CNOS uses an IOS-like privilege model: displaying the running configuration requires privileged access, so create the account at the highest privilege level, or use a lower-privilege login and supply the enable password to QUARK.
Enable SSH access
Enable the SSH server on the switch and verify the collector can reach the management IP on TCP port 22. If you restrict VTY or management-plane access with an access list, permit the collector's IP address.
Platform notes
- QUARK retrieves the configuration with show commands only and never enters configuration mode.
- If login is handled by TACACS+ or RADIUS, create the backup account on the AAA server with authorization to run privileged show commands.
Enable backup in Netwatch
Once the device is prepared, open its host in Netwatch (Data collection > Hosts) and add the Config Backup macros — the supported status flag, the model code for this platform, and the credentials you created. See Getting started for the full macro list and values.
